Animals' favorite food
The crop each farm animal prefers: feeding it that gives double nutrition.

Every farm animal eats plants, but has a preferred crop. Giving it that crop is worth double nutrition, so you spend half the harvests. Each crop grows best in a different city from the animal that prefers it, which gives a reason to trade.
