It has very good single-target damage, the best control in the game (Sap, Blind, Kidney Shot) and never runs out of energy. Combat is still the best tree to level with. It is solid, but it did not get the jump other classes did.

Great single-target damage in all three trees
Lots of control and utility (Sap, Blind, Kidney Shot, Vanish)
Energy: no downtime from resources

Weaknesses

Fragile without Vanish and Evasion
No self-healing: lots of food and bandages
Only has area damage with Blade Flurry
