The Black Market: how it works and when it pays off
The Black Market buys gear from players. Understand the rules before risking silver.
Updated October 2026
What it is
The Black Market, in Caerleon, buys gear that players sell to it. As in the rest of the market, the price depends on supply and demand, and changes over time.
Why we leave it out of the site's prices
The prices we show in builds and in the Market are the lowest sell price across cities, excluding the Black Market, because the Black Market is where gear is sold, not where you buy gear to use. That is why it is not part of the cost to put a build together.
Watch out for outdated prices
Prices depend on data shared by the community. An old price may no longer exist when you get there. Be suspicious of huge margins: they are usually old data or orders that have already been filled.
Mind the transport
Carrying gear to Caerleon goes through zones where you can be attacked. Add the cost of losing the cargo to the risk. A small margin may not justify a dangerous trip.
How selling to the Black Market works
You sell gear to buy orders the Black Market has open, so the buyer is already there. Prices and demand change over time, and only eligible gear is bought, so check in game what it accepts before transporting.
