Solo content in Albion Online: what you can do alone and what to expect

Open world, the Mists, Ancient Lands, Corrupted Dungeons, the Depths, Roads of Avalon and more: what each one is, the risk, and what happens when groups show up.

What counts as solo content

It is everything you can do without putting a group together. In some cases the content is made for people playing alone; in others you enter alone in content designed for groups and have to plan for that. The useful question is not “which is best” but “what risk do I accept and what kind of game do I feel like”.

Open world

It is the game at its freest: clearing camps, gathering resources and running into other players. Meetings with other solo players or duos are the most fun; the main risk is large roaming groups, against whom a solo fight is hard and running is often the only option. It is good content to play calmly and accept the unexpected.

The Mists

PvE and PvP content you do not enter as a group, which gives more even fights than the open world. Even so, some players team up to attack the strongest one or arrange to enter together, and some bring very high item power gear, so the risk is real. See the guide §MISTS§.

Ancient Lands

Instanced content: when you enter alone, you are matched with other solo players. It has PvE and PvP inside, and gear counts with an item power cap. The biggest risk is at the entrance, because the portals are in the open world and groups can be nearby. See the guide §ANCIENT§.

Corrupted Dungeons

They give PvP with little searching: you kill a few mobs along the way, but the point is fighting other players. The content is heavily shaped by the strongest weapons and builds, so the range of options that win consistently is smaller than in the open world. Good PvP practice. Hellgates and Corrupted are covered in the guide §HELL§.

The Depths

You enter alone (or as a duo), but meet teams of two or three inside. You do not lose the gear you wear, only your inventory, which makes fights less costly. Fame was reduced from what it used to be.

Roads of Avalon

A mix of PvE, gathering and PvP: you never know what you will find after entering through a portal. Most people enter in a group, so solo you can run into several players at once. See the guide §ROADS§.

Factions and others

Faction Warfare lets you play large-scale PvP without putting a group together first, and it is a good entry point for beginners: rewards are decent and you do not risk an expensive set. Over time it can become repetitive. For the daily routine, see also the guide §FW§.

Solo dungeons

They are safe, but their rewards were reduced and they give little fame and little loot, so they are mostly for practising. To earn fame solo, see the guide §FAME§.
